WOLLONGONG’S LARGEST RUNNING EVENT IS BACK AND IS PREPARED FOR ITS BIGGEST YEAR YET

The Wollongong Running Festival has marked itself as the region’s biggest event of its kind, introducing runners from outside the Illawarra to Wollongong. This year is set to be their largest event yet – with the goal of reaching 2,000 registrations.

Wollongong, NSW: This year's McGrath Wollongong Running Festival has announced its event date of Sunday, 2 June 2024. The event boasts races that range from 2km Kids and 5km Fun Runs to 10km and Half Marathon races. 

The event is not only family friendly and fun, but also accurately measured and timed ensuring all the needs of participants are met, from fun runners to more advanced, serious competitors. Runners will also enjoy a spectacular run route that utilises both trail and coastal paths with stunning ocean views. 

“If you want an event that has it all, then the McGrath Wollongong Running Festival has you covered. Our races cater for everyone and offer a course that includes ocean views, iconic landmarks and beautiful bushland.” said James Tunbridge, Race Director, McGrath Wollongong Running Festival. 

The event empowers participants to challenge themselves, celebrate their achievements, and contribute to the vitality of the region’s community spirit.

Registrations for the McGrath Wollongong Running Festival have opened and the race is on to register runners from around NSW. The event strives to reposition Wollongong as a destination for running.
